From Cameron Moore

Fellow birdwatcher Cameron Moore, has been busy reading rings in his local village of Whitehead, which is situated on the east coast of County Antrim, between the town of Larne and the City of Belfast.  He has kindly shared his sightings, which are being included here, as a permanent record of his efforts in 'Ring Reading'.  My thanks to Cameron for this and hopefully, there are more to come.

I spotted   PFV  on a couple of occasions in 2016, before I was able to read the code on it's 'colour-ring'.  It most likely bred on Blue Circle Island, on Larne Lough, which is very close to the village of Glynn.  Although I spotted a Common Tern this summer at Glynn, I was not able to capture the code, but it probably was   PFV .  Cameron's post breeding sighting at Whitehead, is only a few kilometres away from Larne Lough.

This tern is now getting on in years.  The colour-ring was probably fitted when the tern was controlled (captured) in 2014.  The addition of the ring, demonstrates their use, enabling re-sightings.
